« Christ's obedience to His Father commits Him wholly to the service of the Kingdom. For that service He takes upon Himself the human condition together with the events that have marked its history. Faithful to His commitment until the end, He makes Himself obedient even to the cross, delivers Himself to death, and from His wounded side pours « a river of living water » (Jn 7, 38). »

« Our obedience is secular, first availability to the Lord, listening and service of men and women, welcoming of the events of the world life, service of God's people. It unites us with Jesus Christ's filial obedience always more and so lets us enter into His mystery. »

« Because of our desire to follow Jesus who refused to exercise any overbearing power, our obedience must be prophetic. It is a permanent challenging of power as a privilege or as a domination. It pushes us to act in such a way that all power, beginning with our own - but also in the world and in the Church -, be exercised for service. »

« By our constant faithfulness we sanctify that portion of the world and time in which we have been placed. Our obedience is manifested in our will to work for the salvation of humanity in love for all and especially for the poor and sinners, in the courage and the humility to serve. In this way we participate in the feelings of the Heart of Jesus Christ and in the mission of the true and only shepherd.. »
